Description of courses
Hot stone massage: A one day comprehensive course covering the use of hot stones. The course covers the benefits and effects, the history, health and safety aspects, contra-indications and the use of crystals and charkas. The morning session will cover theory work and a practical demonstration. In the afternoon students will practice the hot stone massage and a short written test will be completed for certification.

Outcome of course: A certificate in Hot Stone Massage from The Park School of Beauty Therapy, accredited by The Guild of Professional Therapists who can provide insurance. Price: £140
Indian head massage: A two day course covering all aspects of Indian head massage. Day one covers the history, benefits and effects, contra-indications, contra-actions, relevant anatomy and physiology and a demonstration followed by student practical. Day two concentrates on the practical treatment. Four case studies will need to be submitted and students will need to show competency in both practical and theoretical aspects of the course. Outcome of course: A certificate in Indian Head Massage from The Park School of Beauty Therapy, accredited by The Guild of Professional Therapists who can provide insurance. This qualification allows successful candidates to practice Indian Head Massage, in a professional capacity. Price: £150
Hopi ear Candling: A one day course covering all aspects of Hopi ear candling, (thermal auricular therapy). The course covers the necessary anatomy and physiology, benefits and effects, contra-indications and contra-actions. The practical will include a demonstration, hints and tips, how to analyse the contents of the candles and then student practical. A short written test will be used to assess competency along with case studies carried out at home. Pre-entry requirements: None
Outcome of course: A qualification in Hopi Ear candling, allowing successful candidates to practice ear candling. The course is accredited by The Guild of Professional Therapists who are able to provide insurance. Price: £89
Anatomy and physiology: An intensive three day course which is theory based, and requires students to complete course work and assignments at home to achieve certification. Day one will cover cells and tissues, the skin, skeletal, muscular and vascular systems. Day two will cover the lymphatic, nervous, endocrine, and reproductive systems. Day three will look at the digestive, respiratory and renal systems, as well as a small written test. Course work and assignments will be handed in on agreed dates and email or telephone contact with the tutor is available for the duration of the course. This course is the foundation to all holistic therapies, and a pre-requisite for body massage, Indian head massage, reflexology and aromatherapy.

Outcome of course: Candidates will be awarded with a certificate in Anatomy and Physiology, allowing them if desired to progress onto body massage or other holistic courses. Price: £200
